Actor Jayasurya calls himself living martyr amid sexual abuse allegations

Malayalam actor Jayasurya, who was accused of sexual misconduct by a fellow actor, called himself a ‘living martyr’ in a recent interaction with the press. On October 15, the actor was questioned, and the Cantonment Police Station in Thiruvananthapuram recorded his statement in the case. Two cases have been filed against Jayasurya, and he called them false.
After the interrogation on October 15, Jayasurya spoke to the media outside the police station. He stated that he was facing two false cases. “A woman has been talking in various places, implying that it is me, but later she has denied it in several instances. She claims to have had a bad experience during a shoot in Thodupuzha in 2013,” he explained.
Continuing further, he added, “However, there was no such shooting in 2013; that film’s shooting had concluded in 2011. The shoot took place in Koothattukulam and not in Thodupuzha. I don’t know why such allegations are being made. There is a claim that an incident happened outside the Secretariat in 2008. We had only two-hour permission to film outside the Secretariat for a music video. I don’t even know how she got there,” reported Mathrubhumi.
Stating that he would fight these cases legally, he called himself a living martyr. “I will fight this legally until the accusations against me are proven false. I believe I am a living martyr. I have met the person making the allegations. It was a part of a charity initiative. I have no friendship with them. If we were friends, why are they coming forward with such allegations now?,” he asked.
In August, an actor accused Jayasurya and six others, including CPI(M) MLA and actor Mukesh, and actor Edavela Babu. Later, a second case was filed against him.
